At 35, I found myself facing a potential spinal fusion. As a physical therapist, I knew surgery wasn’t always the best first option—so I went searching for something more holistic, more intelligent, more in tune with how the body truly wants to move.
That journey led me to Pilates. I was among the first graduates of the PhysicalMind Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, back when Pilates was still called the “P Method” due to a legal dispute over the use of the name. By the time I completed my training, I was a fully certified Studio Master Teacher, and soon after, I opened a full-service Pilates studio inside my outpatient physical therapy practice.
What I discovered was transformative—for my clients and myself. Pilates became my go-to method for helping people with persistent and chronic pain, particularly those whose stories weren’t fully understood by conventional systems. Over time, I learned why: I was living with a connective tissue condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Without knowing it, I had intuitively sought out the movement and stabilizing practices that supported my body best. And I began to help others do the same.
I bring decades of experience as a physical therapist, combined with a unique background in dance, gymnastics, and international mime and acrobatic performance. (Yes, you read that right!) The root of all my work is to help you understand your body—its needs, its strengths, and its possibilities—and care for it in a way that is empowering, clear, and joyful.
Whether you're navigating EDS, chronic pain, hypermobility, injury recovery, or simply seeking better strength and alignment, my classes and sessions are adaptive, evidence-informed, and deeply human.
Each session blends movement, breathwork, education, and whole-person care. I’ll assess your movement, listen deeply to your goals, and together we’ll co-create a plan that is safe, sustainable, and truly yours.
We’ve built something special at Studio U—a welcoming community that blends clinical wisdom with creative movement, and where laughter, learning, and healing happen side by side.
You don’t have to be a dancer, an athlete, or a Pilates expert—just someone ready to feel more at home in your body.
We can’t wait to meet you
Directions::
Here is the link to our location in St. Louis Park, where to park and where Studio U is located in the building. You will want to park in the 1550 tower parking ramp that is behind the building on the lobby level. From there you will take the elevator attached to the parking ramp down to level P2. When you exit the elevator area you will be in a vestibule with a small set of stairs. Go up the stairs and out the door and to the left and we are the last door on the right. I recommend stopping in the restroom on the lobby level if needed prior to the session just to avoid having to get a key card for the restroom on our level located in the fitness room.
